Legacy Workshop

The Destination Vancouver Meeting and Innovation Network of Distinction (MIND) Partnership is a group of thought leaders sharing knowledge and influence, promoting innovation, and telling compelling stories for global meetings in Vancouver. MIND Partnership unites and connects trailblazers from all industries and supports them in bringing their colleagues to meet in Vancouver. We would like to provide you with an impactful learning opportunity to enhance your understanding of how associations see legacy and how your response as a stakeholder can facilitate in providing our destination with a competitive edge during the bid process. The best conventions drive business results and transformative change while providing inspiration to help improve the world.

This three-hour interactive workshop facilitated by GainingEdge was created exclusively for Destination Vancouver members and stakeholders and will utilize presentations and exercises to outline why and how legacy impacts should be part of a convention bid.  This session will explain conventions as part of a wider strategy beyond meeting outcomes which provide additional value to clients.

Our facilitator, Gary Grimmer from GainingEdge, has a track record in legacy issues, having been involved in research, studies, recommendations, and training (DMOs, association and industry audience) for Destination Canada Business Events, MeetDenmark, BestCities Global Alliance, Visit Brussels, Business Events Sarawak, Daegu Business Events District, AIME Melbourne and Seoul Tourism Organization, just to name a few.
