Paul brings deep knowledge of global business events and tourism based on more than 30+ years working in senior industry roles. He specialises in destination marketing and management, including strategic planning and destination master planning with diverse stakeholders. He has a proven ability to generate impactful results for his clients with attention to business intelligence and research.
Since joining GainingEdge in 2015, Paul has consulted on assignments in Canada, the U.S., Denmark, Brazil, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Panama and Thailand, and provides ongoing management support to the ICCASkills Certification Programme. He has also been an invited speaker in Asia, Europe, North America and South America on a variety of business events and tourism topics.
He has served on the boards and committees of Destinations International, Destination Marketing Association of Canada, the 2010 Winter Olympic Bid Marketing Committee, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, Meetings Mean Business Canada, the Destination Marketing Association of BC and the Vancouver Convention Centre Advisory Task Force.
In addition to consulting, he has been the Managing Director of the BestCities Global Alliance, a partnership of 12 international convention bureaus. He has also been a faculty member in international destination marketing at Capilano University. Paul has a master’s degree from the University of Waterloo in Canada.
